Sexism is prejudice or discrimination based on gender. It serves to perpetuate status and power inequalities between groups in society, just like other forms of prejudice and discrimination. This was largely due to increased public awareness of the social problem and the well-documented harmful effects it has on both individual victims and the organizations where the victims and perpetrators work. Being aware of a problem is usually a good place to start when it comes to resolving it. In order to combat sexism as a social disease, there must be a fair understanding of its existence, meaning, nature, scope, and acceptability. Sexism is a viewpoint that has the ability to negatively impact almost every element of a person's life, preventing them from reaching their greatest potential.
